Reddit has announced a set of upgrades to its Lead Gen Ads. The updates are meant to make life easier for marketers looking to capture leads from in-app promotions and pass them on to their CRM. Social Media Today reported the news on October 6, 2026.
It’s a four-part package that includes AI-powered Max campaigns for lead generation, a test of in-market audiences, an integration with HubSpot and a broader partner ecosystem. Taken together, they represent a big step forward for Reddit’s ambitions in the B2B marketing space.
The lead generation ads on Reddit let advertisers collect information about the users directly on the platform. The feature was initially launched earlier this year, with the public beta beginning last month. The ads can already send the collected information directly to a company’s CRM through a Zapier integration. Reddit also shared one example of a business that saw a significant improvement while using the service in its early state. LaunchDarkly, which provides software development tools, saw a 30% decrease in cost per lead and a 25% increase in lead submission rate during the beta testing. However, this number would represent an outlier case, as the feature has just begun its public release.
The update unveiled this week builds upon the initial version of the advertising feature.
Reddit is rolling out its AI driven Max campaigns into lead generation objectives, helping to handle each stage of an ad campaign. This includes finding audiences, deciding which creatives to use, ad placements and budgets to allocate.
That’s because manually setting up a lead campaign involves making so many decisions, from what audience to target to which creatives to use, where to place the ads and how to apportion budgets. Max campaigns seek to streamline those decisions by taking it over with artificial intelligence
Social Media Today reports, which suggests that introducing this into lead generation could give advertisers an easier route into setting up lead workflows and getting more response.
The counterpoint to that is control, since with more decisions being made by AI, marketers need to look out more on the performance of their leads rather than volume.
In addition to the above, Reddit also announced the launch of a test that allows advertisers to target in-market audiences. Such users are actively researching a particular product or service category.
Currently, the offering is available in three segments: enterprise, business AI and cybersecurity. The company plans to expand the number of verticals in the future, as the experiment evolves.
An initial result has also been reported. According to Reddit, advertisers who used in-market audiences saw an average improvement of nearly 7 CPA (cost per acquisition) compared to other first party targeting options. The company highlighted the figure as a sign of performance, though the test size was relatively small. Advertisers should approach the result with caution, as the company stated the experiment as proof of concept.
The approach would make particular sense for B2B players. A user looking for a security solution right now is more valuable than one who will express interest in a few months. In-market targeting is all about reaching out to such prospects at the right time.
Reddit has announced a new integration with HubSpot. The update allows marketers to utilize more in-app promotion tactics and transfer lead data directly to the CRM of their choice.
Lead generation campaigns are only as good as the conversions they yield, with delayed handoffs often resulting in lost opportunities. Adding a direct connection to a CRM like HubSpot alleviates the burden of exporting reports and manually entering information. This is not the first time that a social media platform has introduced such a feature, as Social Media Today published an article last year (July 2026) confirming that Snapchat also added a similar tool for use within their lead gen ads.
HubSpot connections are quickly becoming an industry standard, as social media ad platforms continue to offer the functionality as a necessity.
The social media platform also expanded its partner ecosystem, with the likes of Bombora, Demandbase, Clay, G2 and Octane 11 among the new partners.
Social Media Today reports the partnerships offer marketers a range of data-driven opportunities to leverage off-platform data and improve targeting and performance within the app.
In other words, a B2B marketer can essentially extend their data universe into Reddit’s ecosystem. In practice, this could take the form of lists of companies, buying signals or intent data that apply to specific advertisers. Bombora, for example, describes its offering for Reddit as company-level targeting that allows advertisers to effectively target the decision makers at the companies it wants to advertise to.
Reddit has become more important to marketers over time due to its role as a platform where people research products. Reddit states that over 20 million business decision-makers use its service, and that nine out of ten of these individuals used it for business product research in the last year.
It is the users’ own words that contribute to the value of Reddit to marketers, as they are often seeking recommendations before making purchases. This makes the service a great location to find individuals who are looking to buy what you sell.
Lead gen is perfectly suited to this task due to its ability to capture the attention of someone who has just spent time reading about a product similar to yours. The individual may then be prompted to download a guide relevant to their interests or request a product demonstration.
Start with a clear goal. Choose between demo requests, content downloads or newsletter signups. Lead gen forms are most effective when the offer aligns with the buyer’s journey. Test Max campaigns on a small budget. Compare the leads against a manually-created campaign. Value quality over quantity. Count the number of conversation-ready leads.
In-market audiences are available for enterprise software, business AI and cybersecurity sales only (for now). The other categories will be added later. But you should consider applying for the test anyway.
Connect your CRM to Max. If you’re a HubSpot user, make sure to configure the integration ahead of time. Confirm that your lead fields sync correctly and your reps receive notifications.
Consider adopting a conversational tone. Reddit users dislike being sold to. Nuance is important. Ads written in the second person performed better than imperative ones during our internal tests. But this is not a conclusion of this experiment.
Several facts regarding the current state of affairs with the testing process remain undisclosed. Firstly, Reddit has not announced the exact time when Max campaigns for lead gen would roll out. Secondly, there is a limited set of three categories to choose from for the in-market audience. Thirdly, there is no access to any other performance-related information apart from the 7% figure.
Finally, while using the lead forms, advertisers should be aware that they still collect personal information from users, so all related privacy regulations and policies still apply.
