Hide Now Brief on Your Galaxy Z Flip Cover Screen After One UI 9 – AndroidPure

Has your Galaxy Z Flip’s cover screen started opening a Now Brief page every time you unlock it? That’s a One UI 9 change, and plenty of owners dislike it. You can switch the new page off. Just know that doing so won’t bring back the exact setup you had before. Before the update, unlocking the cover screen kept you on your wallpaper and clock. On Galaxy Z Flip phones updated to One UI 9, it now opens a new home page. That page shows Samsung’s Now Brief feed plus shortcuts to your favourite apps. SamMobile described this layout in its look at One UI 9 on the Z Flip7.A Z Flip6 owner on Samsung’s US Community forum reported the same shift. After the update, fingerprint unlock no longer stayed on the cover-screen art. Swiping left for notifications and right for widgets also behaved differently. Here’s the honest caveat. With the page off, unlocking takes you straight to your widgets, according to SamMobile. It does not return you to the wallpaper-and-clock view you had before. As of November 4, Samsung hasn’t said it will change this.Android Authority rounded up more grievances from Reddit and Samsung’s Community forums. These are owner reports that androidpure hasn’t tested:The update isn’t all loss. Swiping up from the new home page opens a dedicated cover-screen app drawer. The page itself holds up to five app shortcuts. That puts more apps within reach without Good Lock workarounds.US carrier models are getting One UI 9 now, including carrier-locked Z Flip7 units and Verizon’s Z Flip6. Still, Samsung made its own feature the default landing page, and the only opt-out doesn’t fully undo it.
