Quentin Miles reelected, George Roa joins Zebulon Board of Commissioners after tight race – The Wake Weekly

Zebulon voters elected two candidates to the town’s Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, returning incumbent Quentin Miles to office and adding Planning Board member George Roa to the board.
Miles led the field with 961 votes, securing one of the two seats up for election. Roa won the second seat with 727 votes. Roa has served on Zebulon’s Planning Board since 2024 and has been involved in discussions on growth and zoning as the town continues to expand along its eastern and southern corridors.
Davarus Gardner finished close behind with 702 votes, while Jesse Brown received 701 votes. Trenton Schmitt received 122 votes, and Milton Robinson III received 81 votes.
Miles, who joined the board in 2021, will return for another four-year term.
Roa, who ran on expanding community engagement and supporting long-term planning efforts, will take his first seat as an elected official.
“I’m grateful for my family, for God’s guidance, and for all the people who supported my campaign. I’m looking forward to turning that energy into action here in Zebulon,” Roa said. “And congratulations to Quentin [Miles] and Jessica [Harrison] as well for running great campaigns.”
