OpenAI has announced that it has launched a new, cheaper plan, ChatGPT Go , for 1500 yen per month in all regions where ChatGPT is available. ChatGPT Plus further expands access to advanced models, including GPT-5.2 Thinking. It also offers legacy model selection and the Codex coding agent. ChatGPT Plus also has higher limits on messages, file uploads, memory, and context compared to ChatGPT Go. The subscription fee is ¥3000 per month.

ChatGPT Pro continues to offer full access to the most powerful GPT-5.2 Pro model, with maximum memory and context window limits, and a preview of the latest features. The subscription fee is ¥30,000 per month.

Additionally, OpenAI announced that it will begin testing advertising in the US for logged-in users of the free version and ChatGPT Go who are 18 years of age or older. Ads will not be displayed on ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro, or the corporate versions ChatGPT Business and ChatGPT Enterprise. Additionally, ads will not be displayed on accounts that declare themselves under the age of 18 or that are determined to be under the age of 18.

Ads will appear at the bottom of ChatGPT's responses when there are sponsored products or services related to the conversation. The ads are clearly displayed and clearly distinguished from the responses, and users can see why they are being shown an ad, or hide any ad and explain why. It was also suggested that in the future, users may be able to ask questions directly on the spot while viewing the ad to help them make a purchasing decision.

In connection with the ad display test, OpenAI announced the following five principles as its ‘Advertising Principles.’

Aligned with our mission : Our mission is for AGI to benefit all humanity. Our advertising efforts are always aligned with that mission and aimed at making AI more accessible.
Answer Independence : Advertisements never influence ChatGPT answers. Answers are optimized based on what is most useful to you. Advertisements are always displayed separately from content and clearly labeled.
Conversation Privacy : Your conversations with ChatGPT will never be shared with advertisers, and your data will never be sold to them.
Choice and control : You are in control of how your data is used. You can disable personalization and delete data used for advertising at any time. ChatGPT will always offer you the option to use the service without ads, including through our paid ad-free plans.
Long-term value : We don't optimize for the purpose of increasing the usage time of ChatGPT. We prioritize user trust and user experience over revenue.

OpenAI said, ‘Advertising can also be a major boost for small businesses and emerging brands competing. AI tools further level the playing field, allowing everyone to create high-quality experiences, helping people discover options they might not have come across before.’ ‘Good advertising is informative, entertaining, and helps people discover new products and services. With the potential of AI in mind, we want to develop new experiences over time that are more useful and relevant than other advertising.’
