LinkedIn has introduced a set of new features for creators covering brand sponsorships, content insights, and paid one-to-one consultations within the application. The list of updates includes a test of pre-roll ads on the creator’s videos, new search filters in the Creator Marketplace, the return of pinned comments, and the new Advice Sessions option available for Premium subscribers.
Social Media Today published the news about the update on the Oct. 15, 2026 report. Some of the tools have already been launched, while others are still under the testing process. This article will go through all the updated features and services, explain their benefits and limitations, and discuss what LinkedIn has not mentioned.
LinkedIn announced the list of updates in a LinkedIn article. The changes are grouped into three categories. The first includes enhanced brand sponsorship opportunities, the second comprises updated insights about content, and the third states the possibility to offer one-to-one consultations in the app. Within these groups, LinkedIn announces the launch of pre-roll ads, the addition of search tools to its Creator Marketplace, the return of pinned comments, the launch of Advice Sessions, the update of a dashboard for insights about a profile, the introduction of private notes, and the provision of new in-stream options for Premium All-in-One subscribers. The following paragraphs present and discuss the changes one by one.
The first update is just a test. LinkedIn is testing pre-roll ads in creator content. The ads allow marketers to place their promotions alongside topically relevant creator and publisher videos without establishing a creator partnership. Since the ads appear in videos topically relevant to the subject, a brand’s promotion is tied to the subject of the video it is running beside.
Both creators and the platform benefit from the experiment. The offering allows creators to participate in the ad proceeds for promotions that have been made alongside their content. Creators apply to make their content eligible for brand promotions, and LinkedIn is adding direct monetization for creators.
LinkedIn said the program is in the early testing stage and that more details are coming soon. The report does not include revenue split figures, a launch date, or the number of creators in the test.
Pre-roll ads on creator content build on two existing LinkedIn programs. Both BrandLink and Thought Leader Ads offer similar placement opportunities alongside creator content.
The difference is that a partnership agreement is not required to use the new test. The sign-up process is shifted to the creator’s side, as their opt-in and eligibility for brand promotion opportunities.
Besides, LinkedIn has introduced some search tools to its Creator Marketplace, aimed at helping brands find the most relevant creators to work with.
With this update, brands can look for creators based on criteria such as the focus of the target audience, expertise, and content formats of interest, among other factors. Social Media Today reports that these targeting options give advertisers more flexibility in targeting and creator strategy.
While not new, the LinkedIn Creator Marketplace appeared as a new feature on the site on June 10, 2026. The tool saw another development on May 14, 2026, when LinkedIn announced that it would host gated, creator-led events.
According to LinkedIn, the social network is reintroducing pinned comments on posts. According to the site, “authors can now pin helpful comments” to lead discussions. The text implies that the post’s creator gets the ability to do so.
It is not the first time that LinkedIn has introduced such a feature. The service has tested it with some users in 2022 and subsequently deactivated it. It appears that the function will be available once again.
Social Media Today reports that the feature’s return allows users to better steer conversations and draw attention to a particular comment below their post.
A new offering for Premium subscribers lets them offer free or paid consultations directly from their LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn refers to these as Advice Sessions.
According to LinkedIn VP of Product Management Ora Levit, the Advice Sessions offering allows verified experts to offer paid one on one consultations and charge directly on LinkedIn via secure payments. Verification is required for the profile to offer the sessions.
The consultations can be free or paid, so hosts can choose whether to provide advice as a free service or set a price amount. When there is a charge, the payment is captured on LinkedIn through secure payments as opposed to external to the platform.
In an accompanying post, LinkedIn VP of Product Oscar Rodriguez stated that verification is a requirement since it gives members confidence connecting with people they can trust and learning from.
LinkedIn will launch a new experts showcase page which will make it easier for users to find relevant experts, to consult with, across different categories. Advice Sessions are now available for U.S. hosts, with expanded access launching soon.
Besides the changes mentioned above, LinkedIn is also updating the profile insights dashboard. It will include content performance, monetization, and other metrics.
The social network is also introducing private notes, which let the users keep track of the information regarding their connections. Furthermore, the Premium All-in-One subscribers are getting new content promotion features in the LinkedIn feed in order to increase their content’s reach. The report doesn’t specify what these additional options are.
Social Media Today notes that all these tools comprise a set of potential opportunities that could help content creators in being more consistent within their LinkedIn feed.
These updates benefit three types of users. Marketers can take advantage of two new features. Firstly, they may use pre-roll ads to promote their products and services alongside the creators’ and publishers’ videos without a prior partnership. Secondly, the new Marketplace filters allow them to search for video creators and influencers based on the target audiences, expertise, and formats.
Similarly, the creators benefit from these updates in two ways. They can earn additional revenue from the pre-roll ads and use the updated profile insights dashboards to learn about the performance of their content and monetization options. Moreover, they gain an option to pin comments to their posts to provide specific guidance to their followers. The users receive private notes to organize and store information about their connections.
The experts who subscribe to the Premium plans receive Advice Sessions to offer their services to the clients. The feature allows the experts to post their paid or free consultations on their profiles and promote them across the marketplace. Subscribers to Premium All-in-One get a separate inventory of in-stream options. Finally, the experts in the marketplace have a dedicated page showcasing their field of expertise and other categories of interest.
The updates do not all impact creators the same, so account type determines which apply. A/B testing for pre-roll ads on creator content is in early trial, and LinkedIn states more information will follow shortly. Filters on the Creator Marketplace and pinned comments are described as newly available, with no restrictions indicated.
Advice Sessions are limited to Premium subscribers with a verified profile, and are currently open to U.S. hosts. The new in-stream reach options are for Premium All-in-One subscribers, and the dashboard and private notes are described as forthcoming, with no eligibility criteria named for either.
Multiple details remain undisclosed. The social network has not revealed how much money creators will get from pre-roll ads as a share of the revenue. It has not disclosed how many creators have signed up or when the test will finish. It did not give any ideas about how to set up the expert showcase page or when it will launch.
The report does not provide a date for Advice Sessions in non-U.S. countries beyond the expectation of expanded availability soon. The report gives no further information about the dashboard content beyond content performance and monetization opportunities it will display beyond and what private notes can contain besides connection details. Anyone planning their expectations will need to be aware of the additional information LinkedIn has promised to provide.

Q 10: What does the updated profile insights dashboard show?
