Cronos [CRO] went down toward the $0.056 price area on October 22, giving back most of the recent recovery it saw. The daily chart showed it near the $0.05609 price area, down about 3.69% from the price it started trading from.
The pullback it saw leaves buyers defending the $0.055–$0.056 area while another scheduled token release approaches in November. Holding this range could allow it to try a fresh recovery attempt, but it still faces a hurdle near $0.060.
CRO climbed toward the $0.070 price area in late September, but that advance gave way to a steady October decline as it couldn’t hold it. Its recent attempts to recover have struggled around the $0.058–$0.059 price area.
The latest trend at the time of this writing brought the price back toward the lower end of its recent trading range.
CRO also traded below its displayed moving averages. Three of those lines were around the $0.060 price area, making that area into a potential obstacle to recovery.
Trading volume has dropped compared with September’s rally. This means that participation has become quieter, which is a sign that there is no evidence of a strong buying return.
Tokenomist’s data shows that about 1.2 billion CRO was unlocked from the Cronos Strategic Reserve on October 17. The platform says that it is about 2.3% of the circulating supply.
Another release of about the same size is set to happen on November 16, according to Tokenomist.
These figures add context to the supply that will increase in the coming weeks, but an unlock does not mean that the tokens were sold. CRO’s decline also began before October 17, so the broader price fall and the unlock are not likely to be related.
Tokenomist separately reports that 228 million CRO were burnt over the past 30 days.
The immediate question is whether CRO can hold $0.055–$0.056. Its price could weaken further if it closes around that area, followed by difficulty recovering it.
If this happens, it could find support around the $0.053–$0.054 price area.
For it to recover, it will first need to move to the $0.058 price area and then the $0.060 price area. Holding above the latter would improve its trend, and bring the $0.065 area into consideration.
For now, CRO remains below those recovery levels, and buyers are finding it hard to establish a sustained turnaround.
