Adobe and LinkedIn have launched AI Essentials for Marketers, a joint global initiative that provides free, role-based AI training designed to help marketing professionals build skills across four key areas of the discipline.
The program offers courses spanning digital marketing, content and creative, social and communications, and data and analytics. The training is available through LinkedIn Learning and Adobe Experience League, and courses are offered in 47 languages.
The initiative is pitched at marketing professionals at any career stage and has been designed around short-form, social-first learning formats intended for people who cannot step away from their roles for extended periods.
The program is grounded in data from LinkedIn’s Economic Graph, which draws on information from the platform’s 1.3 billion members, more than 71 million companies and 42,000 skills.
According to that data, AI skills are the number one area of focus for marketing professionals. The share of marketing job postings requiring AI literacy skills has more than doubled year-over-year, up 113 per cent.
The courses cover the shift from traditional marketing workflows to AI-driven content planning, content creation and production, audience targeting and campaign development, and data and insights.
The training is structured around four role-based courses designed by BrandWorks, LinkedIn’s team that delivers strategy and creative support to customers. The courses are based on in-demand marketing functions identified through LinkedIn Economic Graph data.
Courses are available free of charge on LinkedIn Learning, with expanded learning, hands-on experiences and real-world use cases from Adobe customers available on Adobe Experience League.
Adobe and LinkedIn have indicated they will add content on a regular basis to keep pace with changes in AI technology and its application to marketing.
Participants who complete courses earn certificates that can be displayed on their LinkedIn profiles.
Rachel Thornton, Chief Marketing Officer, Enterprise at Adobe, framed the initiative as a response to demand from marketing teams looking to adopt AI with greater confidence.
“Marketers everywhere are eager to embrace AI but need the right skills to do it with confidence,” Thornton explained. “AI Essentials for Marketers is about more than mastering new tools; it’s about reimagining what creativity, marketing strategy, and customer relationships look like in an AI-powered era.”
“Training and re-skilling are top of mind for CMOs, and at Adobe we are excited to partner with LinkedIn to make it easier and faster for teams to learn and train on what’s next for marketing, creativity and AI,” she added.
Jessica Jensen, Chief Marketing Officer at LinkedIn, pointed to the dual nature of the AI shift facing marketers.
“Marketers are navigating the shift to AI and it is both daunting and exciting,” Jensen noted. “LinkedIn’s labour market report provides insights for marketers to see where the industry is going and to understand the skills they will need to be successful both in their current job and for what’s next in their careers.”
“Together with Adobe, we’re helping make AI skills accessible to every marketer – not just technical specialists – through scalable, practical learning designed for the realities of modern work,” she added.
The initiative builds on Adobe Digital Academy’s existing commitment to enabling learners of all backgrounds to succeed in the job market. Adobe has invested $100 million in donations, scholarships, product access and partnerships through the program.
LinkedIn Learning currently offers more than 25,000 courses, with 2,300 focused on AI.
Adobe points to its position within enterprise marketing as context for the partnership. The company says 99 per cent of Fortune 100 companies use AI in an Adobe app, with customers including The Estee Lauder Companies, L’Oreal, the National Football League, Publicis Groupe and Real Madrid among others.
The courses are available now through LinkedIn Learning and Adobe Experience League. Further details and sign-up for updates on new course releases are available at Adobe’s website.
